This course is closed to the public and designed for government finance and accountability professionals in the Republic of the Marshall Islands.

Course Description

This 3-day course introduces the internal control system and the role that each person plays in that system. A refresher in the internal control framework is provided along with a review of common high-risk areas and the controls used to address those areas.

The structure of this course calls for 3 days 5-hour sessions over the course of a week.  Please note we will have an hour lunch break from noon - 1:00 p.m.

After successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the components of the COSO internal control framework.
  • Understand management’s responsibility for implementing and maintaining an adequate internal control system.
  • Understand each employee’s responsibility for compliance with internal controls.
  • Discuss and use tools to establish, properly document, maintain, and adhere to a good system of internal control.

Who Should Attend

Financial reporting and accounting personnel from governmental departments, agencies, and component units.  Auditors.

 

Tuition Fees - With funding support from the Republic of Marshall Islands Ministry of Finance, courses are available free of charge for RMI government accountability professionals. The course fee is waived and there is no cost to register and attend. Professionals who do not meet the above criteria, please contact [email protected].
