Course Description

In this course, participants explore the complexities of grant audits, gaining a deep understanding of the two primary types that affect granting agencies and grantee organizations. Participants will gain a solid understanding of the single audit required for grantees who receive over $750,000 in federal funding, as well as the detailed audits conducted by awarding entities. Clear insights into audit expectations will provide guidance for preparing and implementing compliance strategies effectively. The legislative and regulatory foundations of audits will be covered in a straightforward manner, providing essential knowledge to navigate the audit process successfully. By the end of the learning experience, individuals will possess the skills and knowledge needed to facilitate a smooth and informed audit process for their organizations.

  • provide an overview of each type of audit that affects both granting and grantee organizations
  • cover what to expect with each audit type
  • provide the legislative and regulatory background behind each audit along with what each organization should know when the auditor arrives.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for employees LBJ Tropical Medical Center. The course should be attended by those individuals involved in the audit process, either in the procurement of the audit contract or interactions with the auditors.
