Virtual

This virtual course will be delivered regionally via Zoom.

Registration is open to insular government professionals.

Course Description

Successful grants often utilize project management skills. Project management is the process of leading the work of a team to achieve goals and meet successful criteria within a specified period of time. The primary challenge of project management is to achieve all of the project goals within the given constraints. For grants, this information is usually described in project documentation, created at the beginning of the development process. The primary constraints are scope, time, and budget. A secondary challenge is to optimize the allocation of necessary inputs and apply them to meet pre-defined objectives.

This 3-day virtual course will provide information about how to use program management to improve grant implementation. Get results using time-tested strategies and practical, hands-on tools to execute and succeed in project management. You’ll learn how to scope projects effectively, improve time budgeting and resource allocation, and get the project done on time and within budget to manage grants successfully. This course “builds” from each day to the next. Participants should plan to attend the entire course or risk becoming lost because they have skipped a session.

The structure of this course calls for 2-hour daily virtual sessions over a three-day period.
