Course Description

The closing plenary will feature the following presentations:

Artificial Intelligence in the Workplace

This session explores the growing influence of artificial intelligence (AI) in our daily lives and the workplace. The presentation will provide an overview of AI fundamentals, highlight where AI appears in our daily lives, and introduce generative tools such as Large Language Models (LLMs). The session will also cover AI prompting techniques, explore key challenges and issues in the AI landscape, and offer sample prompts that can be used in professional settings.


Strengthening Collaboration for Oversight: SAIs and Stakeholders

This session explores the oversight role of SAIs and how they can work with key stakeholders to hold the government to account.

Session: Artificial Intelligence in the Workplace

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize where artificial intelligence is used in everyday life and the workplace

  • Understand the basic concepts behind artificial intelligence

  • Identify tools that use artificial intelligence to support writing, research, and other professional tasks

  • Practice using clear and effective instructions to get useful results from these tools

  • Discuss common concerns and issues related to using artificial intelligence in the workplace


Session: Strengthening Collaboration for Oversight: SAIs and Stakeholders

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify key stakeholders involved in public oversight

  • Describe how Auditors and stakeholders can work together more effectively

  • Share strategies for building trust and improving communication among oversight partners

  • Reflect on ways to strengthen collaboration in their own work

Who Should Attend

APIPA conference sessions are intended for island government accountability professionals.  Audit, budget, finance, accounting, and related management and staff members will find interest and value in this presentation.
