Course Description

Governments struggle with managing resources and requirements for delivering efficient and effective programs and services.  The additional cost of systems and practices to manage and report on government operations can seem daunting at times.  This session will discuss concepts for results based management that are fit for purpose and can provide the kind of accountability needed for many government programs and services.

Who Should Attend

APIPA conference sessions are intended for island government accountability professionals.  Audit, budget, finance, accounting, and related management and staff members will find interest and value in this presentation.

With funding support from the United States Department of the Interior, Office of Insular Affairs, courses are available free of charge for government accountability professionals within the insular areas. Martin Ruben, FCPA, FCGA spent 30 years as a director with the Office of the Auditor General of Canada and 8 years as a director with the Office of the Auditor General of the Cayman Islands before starting his consulting career in 2017.  He is a Chartered Professional Accountant who was conferred the Fellow designation in 2013 for service to his profession.
