Manny Hechanova

Guam

Manny Hechanova has over 25 years in the Information Technology industry as a teacher and consultant. His current research focuses on social network data analysis and data visualization. Currently, Manny is the Interim Chief Information Officer and Associate Director for Telecommunication And Distance Education Operation at the University of Guam. In these roles, he is responsible for the campus network, enterprise applications, research infrastructure, online learning platform/tools, and local/regional partnerships. Manny is a four-year U.S. Air Force veteran and credits his military experience as the starting point of his IT career.

Every day, we experience data presentations in a variety of ways. These ubiquitous presentations are part of our routine daily life. This presentation will review the popular ways data is presented and the ideas we can learn from these examples. There are restrictions on visual space, user interaction, data prioritization, and user expectations. These factors influence and guide the design and decisions on how data is presented.
